Day 31 - A Family

Image
With the last entry of my month long project, I didn't have any issue trying to figure out what I would do.  I started the month with a picture of the temple, and just as important as the temple to me, my family is everything.  My family is definitely chaotic and wild, but amazing and awesome just the same.  I love them all so very much, and am just glad they put up with my tomfoolery.

Day 30 - Palo Duro Canyon

Image
As we arrived back in Texas, we stopped by the Palo Duro Canyon, just outside of Amarillo, Texas.  Before moving here, I didn't know it existed, but it happens to be the second largest canyon in the country.  Some might guess that anything not the grand canyon just isn't so grand, but that isn't the case here.  It was pretty incredible to see, and really cool to go down and see the who thing from above and down below.

Day 29 - Sunset Over Frisco

Image
Our last day of the trip concluded with an amazing sunset in Frisco, Colorado.  The sky was so beautiful tonight.  It's been a fun trip, and spending time with family is always a joy.

Day 28 - Mountains and Lakes

Image
Although it's a day behind, here are yesterday's pictures.  Took these photos of Dillon Lake, just outside Frisco, Colorado.  The sun had just come up and the mountains were perfectly reflecting off the water.

Day 27 - A Bunch of Chickens

Image
When I put together the list of things I wanted to photography over the course of the month, I wrote down 'animal', but wasn't really sure what I would do for this.  I didn't want to go easy with basic domestic animals.  Lubbock doesn't have a zoo, so I didn't really have that as an option.  My sister Katie suggested monkeys at one point, but I really didn't think that would work either.   I ended up deciding on my sister Becky's chickens.  It was fun watching them walk around the pen.  They definitely weren't shy for the camera.  They aren't exotic, or wild, but these chickens were pretty interesting to me.

Day 26 - Motorcycle Portrait

Image
As I'm preparing to start up my photography business, I have a lot to work on.  Portrait photography is probably my least experienced area of photography.  My experience resides in photojournalism, and in other non-personal areas of photography.  I had a chance to do portraits with my uncle, Lee Baroldy, an avid motorcycle fan and rider.  We also, aside from being relatives, were stationed together in Iraq in 2009.

Day 25 - Light Shinning Through

Image
I was fortunate to have views like these for part of my time living in Utah.  The view of the valley was awesome enough, but from time to time, the clouds would do amazing things.  The wild thing is it comes and goes so quickly.  If you look out the window now, the clouds look completely different.

Day 24 - A Salt Lake Sunset

Image
Although its a day behind, due to internet issues, here is yesterday's posting.  We went out the Great Salt Lake last at sunset, and watched the sun go down from the beach.

Day 23 - Road Trip (pt 1)

Image
Today we drove through New Mexico and southern Utah on our way to Salt Lake City.  I'm not the biggest fan of New Mexico, and that might be because of my Texan wife, but these scenes along the way were quite pleasant.  It felt like every few miles I was saying lets stop to snap a few more pictures.  The sights along the way definitely made up for the 15 hour road trip.
