I wasn't going to post anything taken from my phone, but I was pleased with these shots from this week.  The reality though is that you can take good photos with a smart phone, as long as you know what you're doing.

This morning before work, I headed out and took some pictures of the satellites outside our station.  I'm quite fascinated by the dozens of satellites all grouped together.

I took this the other day while I was at work.  It's not that rare to see the moon out during the day, but I was just so surprised to see it so clear in the blue sky.  

Anna and I were driving down to Midland one day and passed field after field of sunflowers.  I can't recall seeing a field of sunflowers in person.  I wish I had stopped the car and taken pictures then.  Two months later, I finally had a chance to go back out and try to get some pictures.  This picture above is maybe the only intact sunflower I found, all the others were sun soaked and dried out.  They still look pretty amazing, but definitely didn't catch them in their prime.

Every night I drive past the movie theater on my way home.  I see the lights shine off the water and it kind of mesmerizes me.  Film is definitely a passion of mine, and having a theater so close is amazing.  These lights are almost like the lights that attract the a bug, I am pulled in.

As I have become accustom to life here in Lubbock, I have come to the conclusion that Lubbock is really known for two things:  Strong winds and football.  Prior to moving here, I couldn't really tell you where Texas Tech was, but in 7 months, I feel like I am on the verge of becoming a fan.  Football alone is a great passion of mine, but being in a town that loves their team so much is fun.  I wanted to show my support of the upcoming football season by sharing a photo of the Texas Tech stadium.

With todays entry, I decided to take a portrait photo of my in-laws, Mary and Kirk Anderson.  I think it is sometimes cliche to think of your spouses family as crazy and less desirable, but I have fortunately married into a very amazing family.  They are definitely crazy, but it the best kind of way. I have been accepted and welcomed in their family and definitely feel a desire to be with them.  I wanted to express my appreciation for them in one of the better ways I know how...through picture. I also promised Mary that I would add pictures of Colby, Caden, and Hazel for her picture frames for her desk, so here they are:
